Precast Installation System

Precast, which has become the favorite of both construction companies and users with the advantages it provides in the construction field, is considered essential for creating a healthier and more comfortable living space.

The designation of precast as a new generation concrete system is influenced by the materials it contains. The preparation of precast facade and precast concrete systems is much less costly and easier compared to other systems. Different systems are utilized for the assembly of these prepared systems onto structures. We will examine these in three stages and delve into the advantages it brings to the structure in much more detail.

What are Precast Materials?

We have begun to hear more about precast or GRC systems in new constructions. The reason for this is that this system offers versatile advantages. To understand this, it is necessary to know well the materials and features contained in precast. Silica sand is a widely preferred product in the construction and industry sectors.

It is a solid building material component with high hardness. White cement provides not only strength but also contributes with its aesthetic form. Alkali-resistant glass fiber exhibits resistance to alkalis and acids. It also has high resistance to water. It is one of the most important factors in making concrete structures durable. Apart from these materials, different building materials can also be added to this mixture as desired.

Stages of Precast Production

At the beginning of the production stage, designs for precast facade cladding and features such as precast cornices are determined. Essentially, a solid structure is achieved with concrete precast. In the production of these concrete systems, different dimensions can be determined, and molds are cast accordingly.

Desired dimensions and designs are determined with molds in panel production. The material content is cured in these molds to become ready. Production can be carried out in every season. Materials such as wood, iron, steel, rubber, etc., can also be mixed with the mixture as desired to create a stronger form.

The frame, anchor, and halfen channel system, which will be used together with this mixture, are also produced during this process with the most accurate measurements. Once prepared, precast panel products are assembled in construction areas according to the specified dimensions. It is important for the frame and anchor systems to be compatible with the panels in terms of solidity.

What Processes are Involved in Precast Assembly?

Precast facade cladding, with its fiber-reinforced material, provides very high resistance to fires, impacts, and vibrations. The mounting system also contributes to its durability as much as its material.

  • Steel Frame System: The produced panels are placed within the frame system, which is created in galvanized steel structures. It can also be referred to as the skeleton of the structure. Since the materials will be placed within this structure, panels may deviate from the frame system due to the slightest error in production. The bolts placed on the precast provide the connection between the frame and the panels.
  • Steel Anchor System: It serves the function of fixing the frame system. They are in an L shape and used in beams to ensure a much more stable position for the precast.

Halfen Channels: They are located in the mounting parts where the precast is fixed. They are used for the connection of materials with the anchor system. They come in stainless form, and T bolts are used for connection. These bolts are serrated to maintain the solidity of the anchor system, in other words, the mounting system of the precast.
